Often when I substitute in the classroom, the teacher will say, <em>"You're welcome to use your own plans,"</em> especially when it comes to writing and reading activities. So I've decided to have a number of activities I can use on long and short notice.<br /><br />I've also begun to work with home schoolers. In one group, I provided follow-up plans for the moms (most of whom didn't have teaching degrees).
